The Essex Farmers Market showcases the wonder of Essex and Cape Ann while supporting local small businesses and farms. Now in their second year, the Essex Farmers Market is expanding its reach to increase awareness of the issues of sustainability and local sourcing.

Cape Ann Relay for Life

The Cape Ann Relay for Life will be held at Burnham's Field in Gloucester Massac

 

The Cape Ann Relay for Life is a community event that raises funds funds for the American Cancer Society and creates an opportunity to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against the disease.  The 2013 Relay will take place at Newell Stadium at the Gloucester High School .

Join the fun while doing good at the 24 hour-long MDA Muscle Walk Challenge at Ken Spellman Track in Ipswich this this June! One of our friends, Deb LaFrance, will be walking to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. You can sponsor her, join her team or start a team of your own and compete with other teams to see who raises the most funds! The Ipswich Massachusetts Farmers Market is every Wednesday on the South Vill

Farm fresh vegetables, fruit, honey, maple syrup, eggs, herbs, flowers, local artisans and featured community initiatives as well as lively entertainment weekly! The Ipswich Farmers Market vision is “To support a vibrant local food-based economy and help nurture a more sustainable community.” The 2014 season runs from June 20-October 17.

Baby Boot Camp

At Baby Boot Camp, moms get exercise while kids have fun!

Baby Boot Camp stroller-based fitness classes are designed specifically to help moms get fit. It takes the place of a personal trainer at a time in your life when you need one more than ever. Classes combine strength-training exercises with cardiovascular drills. Pilates, yoga and abdominal exercises help improve core strength. The stroller, resistance tubes (and even your child!) are used as an integral part of the workout. Come try it - the first class is always FREE!

The Fast Chicks 5k is a Hamilton-Wenham Mother's Club sponsored community fundraiser race that celebrates active women and raises funds for a selected charity each year. Now in it's forth year, the race begins and ends at Patton park and funds raise this year will go to the Family Promise North Shore Boston.

Anna Jaques Hospital invites expecting parents to tour the birth center

If you are expecting, or are considering starting a family, Anna Jaques Hospital invites you to a Birth Center Open House and tour. By attending, you are able to meet the obstetricians, gynecologists, certified nurse midwives, maternity nurses, pediatricians, neonatologists and family practice physicians who are available to take care of you during your pregnancy and after your baby is born. This will help you find the physician or midwife with whom you feel most comfortable. Once you have chosen your provider, you can begin scheduling the prenatal visits necessary for a healthy pregnancy. All physicians and midwives who deliver at the Anna Jaques Hospital Birth Center are board certified.
