Brookwood School January Open House

Brookwood School in Manchester MA for children grades PreK - Grade 8.

On Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., parents of students entering grades Pre-K through Eight are invited to Brookwood School's Open House to learn about the exceptional education the school offers.

The program will feature:

1:00 p.m. Classroom tours - meet and speak with Brookwood faculty
2:00 p.m. Information program- presentation by Division Heads, faculty, Head of School John Peterman, followed by Grade 8 student panel
Children's Activities include - Steel Drums, Puppet-Making, or Tinker Time

Kirgami with Miss Sara at MPL

Paper snowflakes are one example of kirgami

Manchester Public Library invites kids and adults to an afternoon of Kirgami with Miss Sara!  Kirigami is the Japanese art of cutting paper, named from the words 'kiru' (to cut) and 'kami' (paper). Symmetry or balance is a very important concept in Kirigami. Snowflakes, pentagrams, and flowers are all examples of Kirigami projects in which cuts are made to enhance the symmetry of the design.

Manchester Concert & Tree Lighting

Celebrate the start of the Christmas Season in downtown Manchester, Mass!

As part of the Christmas-by-the-Sea celebrations in Manchester there will be a Christmas concert at the First Parish Church and the tree lighting ceremony at Manchester Town Green immediately after the concert. This is also the kickoff of Manchester's 'Festival of Trees'.  Come enjoy the community spirit of the holidays and make lasting Holiday memories for your children!

Midwinter Magic Puppet Show at MPL

Kids will enjoy a FREE performance of the Gerwick Puppets' 'Midwinter Magic'

Manchester Public Library presents a The Gerwick Puppets' Midwinter Magic!  Come to the First Parish Chapel (behind Santander Bank) for the show and join the crowd for refreshments at the library immediately afterward. Please pick up a free ticket to the event in the Children’s Room of the Manchester Public Library.

Santa will arrive at Masconomo Park by lobster boat at 1 pm on December 7, 2013

Come to the the annual Jingle Bell Walk in Manchester! Santa will arrive at Masconomo Park by boat at 1pm. The jolly man will lead children on a Jingle Bell Walk to Singing Beach, followed by an open house at the MCC from Manchester Community Center from 1-3pm, where there will be a miniature petting zoo, a craft activity,  face painting, entertainment with Mrs. Claus and delicious refreshments. Everyone will get a chance to meet Santa and take pictures, so come join in the Holiday fun in Manchester!

Explore and enjoy natural outdoor wonders in Brookwood School's Little Herons Fall Explorers program. Through age-appropriate activities, led by Brookwood science teacher CJ Bell and music teacher Andrew Luman, children will use their senses, venturing to Brookwood's campus pond, stream, fields, forest, and its extraordinary science gymnasium.

Brookwood School Sustainability Fair 2014

Brookwood School in Manchester, MA, is proud to present the 8th Annual Sustainability Fair on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event theme of this year's fair is "Gardening: Habitats Around Us" and promises to be an exciting day that is sure to educate, inspire and involve.

Manchester Trick or Treat Party

Join the Town of Manchester in celebrating its' annual Halloween Party. Goody Bags, including glow stick for safety, are courtesy of the Manchester Fire Department! Mo the Clown with feature entertainment that includes making ballon animals and a number of Manchester Essex Regional High School students have happily volunteered to enhance children's costumes with face and hand painting prior to their departure for Trick or Treating.  This event is free, but donations are encouraged to continue the tradition to the following year.
